Many congrats to one of our MPBC team’s for finishing runners up in the Mixed Fours event at the Denison bowls carnival held in May.

The team of Linda and Charlie Davis; and Colette and Stan Smith performed exceptionally well considering the greens were running at a snails pace and at times one of the greens was a paltry 10 seconds. The team won all their games on the day of the mixed fours event and finished with 25 shots up, but a team from Warwick came from nowhere and won their last game by a staggering 19 shots to just pip the MPBC team.

Both the Men’s Pairs teams of Charlie Davis and Stan Smith; and Ian Foster and Bill Sawkins (Busselton) won round prizes.

The Ladies 4's team of Linda Davis, Colette Smith, Barbara Foster and Jean Sawkins (Busselton), also performed well just missing out on a prize.

The Men's 4's of Charlie Davis, Stan Smith, Ian Foster and Bill Sawkins (Busselton) were also ran's (but that's another story).

The Denison carnival is played over 5 days and consists of Men’s 4’s, Ladies 4’s, Ladies Pairs, Men’s Pairs and Mixed 4’s.

A proposal will be put to our executive to include a similar event in our next year’s calendar.
