WHAT A FINAL

Congratulations to Barry Elliss, Dean Higgon, Eric Wood and John Evans.  Congratulations also to the worthy runners-up; Daniel Bartoshefski, Nigel Rees, Stan Smith, and Kevin Swan.

• There was never more than a few shots in it; Barry was up; 8/6 at the 9^th and 13/10 at the 13^th.  Daniel and his team fought back to even it up 13/13 at the 15^th and led 16/18 going into the 21^st end.  Barry's team picked up 2 to even it up 18 all forcing the extra end.  It was a nail biter.

• Mr. Reliable John Evans drew two to within a foot (he had been doing it all day) but Kevin snuck in second shot.  A few nervous shots followed.  Mr Cool, Barry was directing traffic trying to covering all bases behind the head.  Those two big yellow bowls looked to be sitting ducks. Incredibly they were still sitting there with one bowl to play.  Daniel lined up to drive and why wouldn't he, up to then he was three from three on drives. 'Blocker" Wood went walk-about.  He couldn't watch. But is was not to be. Oh, what a game, what drama, fantastic to watch.  The small crowd that did turn up to watch were enthralled to the end.  Those that didn't missed a beauty.
