A Successful AGM

Our President, Kevin Swan, said how pleased he is that the AGM held last Sunday was a very positive meeting.

Tribute was paid to members who have made significant contributions to the club. The great honour of Life Membership was bestowed on Syd Rowe and Ron Wrightson.

Syd has steered the club through successful financial negotiations with Melville City Council for many years. He has also served several terms as Vice President.

Ron Wrightson is in his 50th year of membership of the club. He was very involved with the early days of the establishment of the Mount Pleasant Bowling Club. Ron has been Club Champion several times and has held many significant positions in the Club.

Kevin also thanked the outgoing Treasurer, Robert Coles who has provided an outstanding service to the financial management of the club for a number of years. Dave Reynolds was welcomed to the Executive Committee as Treasurer. Kevin said that it is very pleasing to have a new person joining the executive team.

A special mention was made regarding the work which Brian Jeppesen carries out as our club coach and how fortunate we are to have such an outstanding coach at our club.

Kevin thanked those many volunteers who have given their time to keep the club in good shape

Syd Rowe outlined some new financial arrangements for the repayment of loans which will assist the club to balance the budget. Syd also updated the meeting about the potential development of land to the south of D green.
